Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP)
Directorate General Punjab is the administrative head of the Regional Office Lahore and Sub Regional Offices (SROs) including Sialkot and Gujranwala. Directorate General Punjab performs the administrative responsibilities of Finance & Accounts, HR & General Admin, issuance of Certificates of Origin, registration of Gems and Jewelry exporters and EDF funded projects in the region. Besides these, it also deals with legal matters of TDAP as well as of the Ministry of Commerce in Honorable Courts in Punjab.
Directorate General Punjab II, also oversees a spectrum of trade-related functions, including the execution of seminars, webinars, exhibitions, and delegations. Serving as the primary executing body for trade-related activities in the region, It plays a pivotal role in orchestrating these initiatives. The office operates with its distinct Annual Business Plan, collaboratively developed through consultations with the local business community and chambers, outlining strategic goals for each fiscal year. The office also supports TDAP’s Sectoral/Product Divisions based in Karachi to manage their events in Punjab e.g. International Exhibition, International Delegations, Seminars/Workshops etc., from time to time as requested.

TDAP Gujranwala maintains active liaison with Gujranwala CCI, Gujrat CCI and Mandi-Bahaudin CCI for trade facilitation and promotion activities. The office also issues north of 130 GSP forms per month and the number is rising day by day. There are around 21,000 manufacturers in Gujranwala region ranging from small to large scale enterprises. It is the second largest cluster of cottage industry in Pakistan. Being the 3rd largest industrial hub of Pakistan, it has industrial clusters of house-hold electric & electrical appliances, metal cookware, ceramics and pottery, cutlery, plastics & polymer products, textiles and made-ups, chemical & detergents, food & beverages, pipes & fittings, dyeing & printing, melamine products and scrape kilns. The region also has a large-scale industry of heavy machinery, spare parts, auto parts and steel security products. Gujranwala’s total exports hovers around 3 billion USD and it contributes the same amount in import substitution.
